We have a teacher who is writing a course for us. She asked us the other day if her glossary entries could be links. Or when glossary defined words appeared in the course, they could be links to the definition. A common and reasonable request. This moodle doc page describes this type of functionality.
To demostrate. I opened the course of the teacher who inquired and added a new glossary activity to a course section. I opened the glossary activity and added a word called poodLL. I defined the term poodLL and saved the definition.
Now, in the paragraph directly above the glossary, the term poodLL is used and it appears as a link. When I click on the link, I get the definition of the word in a little pop-up window.
I went to the teachers course and added a glossary activity to the general section (top). Them I found a couple words in the course that looked like good candidates for an explanation and added them to the glossary activity, checking the auto-link option. After saving the words and returning to the course page, I could see both the words highlighted.
Nice.
