Steps to assign an account the Advisor role in a student account.
1) Verify that the account you wish to assign the advisor role exist.2) If the advisor does not have an account, create their account in moodle.
3) Browse the user list and find your student
4) Once student is located, click on their name. You should see their account profile.
5) Choose Settings | Roles | Assign relative to this user
6) Click on the Advisor role
7) Add an account to the Advisor role
8) Log into the advisor account.
9) If you do not see the Advisor block in the account my home space
Click the Customize this page button and find the Mentees block. You can rename the block title. All the associated student accounts should show in the block.10) If the Advisor needs to see course content, enroll the advisor account into the course in the Advisor in course role. The Advisor in course role is based on the student role, but has a little more permission and will not confuse the teacher into thinking their is a new student in the course.
11 To view the students course data, click the student name, then the course name
All of the students courses will appear when the advisor clicks on their name.12 In the Navigation block, click Activity Reports
Student data now avail. to the advisor are:
- gradebook
- course access logs
- completion report
- outline report
- forum posts
- blog posts and messages sent
