How to make content public in moodle

I have a few pdf files that need to be publicly accessible in my moodle.  I do not want to require any login, not even the clicking of the Login as guest button.  I have links in other areas (not in my moodle site) that I want to load the files directly upon clicking the link.  Got it?

Steps to create public information in moodle.

1) The first step is to create a course in moodle to house the pdf files.  I called my course public information. I chose just one topic.

2) Add a file resource to the 1st and only course topic.

3) Upload the file to the resource. (now you have your direct URL to the content(file))

4) Repeat for each piece of content to be publicly available.

5) Update the course setting to allow guest access.

6) Go to Site Admin | Users | Permissions | User policies and check the Auto-login guests option.  This will cause the login as guest screen to be bypassed and bring you directly to the content.  This step requires site admin. permission.

That should do it!
