A solution for a course creator role to NOT receive student role emails

One of our course developers, Ann has two sections of her course in play this fall.  One section, she is the teacher role and can make changes to the course content when necessary.  The other section, she is enrolled as in the course creator role.  There are about 10 students enrolled in the section where she is enrolled as course creator.  She is receiving copies of email messages from students in the section, since the course creator role by default receives emails when students post in the course.  She does not want them, she only wants them in her own section.

To cease receiving emails from students in the other section, we could:

a - remove her enrollment and provide here enrollment on a limited basis
b - change the behavior of the course creator role (to not receive email) - but this would effect others in this role who may want to get email from students
c - try adding a group(s) to the course section where Ann is enrolled as course creator and move the students and teacher enrollments into the group.

I think by adding a group and moving the student and teacher enrollments into the group, the course creator enrollment, now sitting *outside the group will NOT get communications (emails or text messages) from enrollment in a group.  We may need to add another group and put Anns enrollment into it, we shall see.
