Who did what to my site?

I was talking with my co-worked this am.  The conversation was something like this.

"James, has aventa added those courses yet?" I say, what courses?  she says "The ones Mike was asking about."  I said, they were loaded last week.  My co-worker says "are you sure, oh, I need to close the ticket to know when that was done".

So, I was reminded that moodle has a pretty robust logging mechanism, which pretty much logs everything that anyone on the site has done.  That's a lot of logs.  It also has a pretty good interface or form, that allows you to filter what you want to see.  So, I pulled up the Logs from the Site Admin | Report | Logs menu and add a simple filter that says only show me transactions or actions performed by the Aventa account.  This is the account that our vendor logs in with do things to our site like add new courses or fix problems in existing courses.

The interface with filter

The resulting records - which detailed all the things the aventa account had done to our site - wonderful stuff.

Moral of the story?  Report logs are a great resource when you need them!
