Moodle editing buginess

This is in moodle 2.2 where I see this behavior.

We have certain formatting that we do to courses we get from our vendors.  Specifically, we change the way the content (URL activities) render.  We format each activity in the db to display in a pop-up window in a specific window size.  We also activate completion tracking.

The buginess occurs after completing the updates in the DB and then viewing the course.  The changes do not appear or take affect UNTIL we edit one of the activities.  Once we edit a content activity, without even saving it, just opening a content window in edit mode triggers the updates to appear in the course.

Moral of the story?

Moodle is caching, which it should, and required an edit session to begin in order to rebuild the course cache.
