Giving the course creator role course context

Today I had a request to create a new course on our content server and enroll one of our teachers in the course.  I deduce that this teacher has been hired to write a course for us.

I browsed to the content server and created the course.  Then created an account for the teacher.  Then I enrolled the account into the course, which is when I discovered the role I wanted to use, course creator, was not available to enroll in the course!

Know how the roles and context work in moodle!

I knew that probably meant the course creator role did not have the context permission to be applied in the current context (a course).

I browsed to the site wide roles (Admin|Users|Permissions|Define Roles)
Clicked on the edit icon to the right of the Course Creator role and saw the role was not given permission in the context of a course.

After checking the Course option, saving and returning to the course enrollment, I had a new option

Moral of the story?

Know how roles and context work in moodle.
