Course self enrollment options

Today, one of my customers asked if self enrollment was set up on one of their classes.  My first thought was why are you asking me?  They are in the manager role which has permission to check that.

After further review, I realize that things are not always obvious in moodle.  Moodle is feature rich, which generally translates to confusing or ambiguous. 

It took me a few minutes, because I could not find the answer right away either, to find the answer.

I browsed to the course, then browsed the Settings block Users | Enrollment methods | Self Enrollment.

Once I found the method was avail. in the course, I was able to click the edit icon to the right of the enrollment method

And ensure that the Allow Self Enrollment option was set to Yes.
