I wanted to include a header graphic, and a smaller version of the same graphic, in the theme. I am using the standard white moodle theme. I like this theme because its simple and has the option to include the front page and sub pages graphics in the header.
After creating and placing the header graphics in the site theme
I also added an HTML block to the site home page and included a reference to an image. I had to think about where to place the image on the server, since the HTML block did not have an option to download an image, just to reference one.
Where to put the image on the moodle server?
I placed a copy of the image in the moodle directory /local. Then I added a reference to it in the HTML block editor, websiteURL/local.Moral of this simple story?
Keep images and other valuable assets in the moodle installation /local folder.Note: the images show above that I uploaded to the theme are actually not located at websiteURL/theme/theme_name/pix, like you might think. They are buried deep in the moodledata area. Hidden away.
