Adding assignments to a moodle course - the effiecient way

One of my vendors purchased content from another this past year (Fueled purchasing Edynamic).  I have discovered that some of the new course content is missing assignment activities.  A student actually reported it to the teacher back to me.  Upon examination, yup, assignments are referenced in the content but did not exist in the course.

Fine.  I contacted the vendor and they added them, once I had given their account proper permissions (manager) in the course in question.

Then another course was reported with the same thing.  Rather than contacting the vendor again, I went ahead and added the assignment activities myself.  There were 10 topics in the course, so 10 assignments activities added.  Actually, I added one, formatted it, disabling the draft capability, enabling the notify teacher via email when submitted capability and set the points to 10, according to the content in the course.  Then, I duplicated it 9 times on the course page and moved them into the correct topic.  Finally, I went to the full gradebook view and moved the new assignments into a subcategory.

If I have to do this once more, I am tempted to create a new course, add the assignments to it, back it up and use it as the source and merge it into the course that is missing the assignments.   This makes some sense.  It's probably fewer steps to restore the assignment back up course into the existing course than to manually add the activities, format them etc.

That is what the vendor did in the initial course where this was reported.

Food for thought.
